Task Haus Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) outlines how Task Haus, Inc. (“Task Haus,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and deletes your Personal Information when you access or use the Task Haus app (the “Platform”).

This Policy also informs you of your legal rights and choices regarding your personal data, depending on your location and applicable privacy laws.

By using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy and the applicable Terms of Service (collectively referred to as the “Agreement”). If you do not agree with this Policy or any part of the Agreement, you must discontinue use of the Platform immediately.

For clarity and consistency throughout this Policy:

  • “Task Haus,” “we,” “our,” or “us” refers to Task Haus, Inc., the operator of the Platform.
  • “You” refers to any individual using the Platform, including but not limited to Clients, Taskers, Helpers, or Hands.
  • “Platform” means the Task Haus mobile application, website, and related services.
  • “Terms of Service” refers to the legally binding contract governing your use of our services, including the Task Haus Platform. The Task Haus Terms of Service, which are fully incorporated into this Privacy Policy by reference, can be found [HERE] (insert working link).
  • “Personal Information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can reasonably be associated with a particular individual, directly or indirectly, as defined by applicable privacy laws.
  1. Collection of Personal Information

Task Haus collects Personal Information to operate effectively and provide a secure and personalized experience on the Platform. We obtain this data in the following ways:

  • Directly from You: When you create an account, use the Platform, complete transactions, or communicate with us or other users.
  • Automatically: When you interact with the Platform, including through cookies, device identifiers, and other tracking technologies.
  • From Third Parties: Where permitted by law, we may collect data from background check providers, identity verification partners, and others.


Categories of Personal Information Collected Include:

  • Contact Information: Name, email, phone number, and physical address required to create and maintain your account.
  • Billing Information: Credit/debit card details including number, expiration date, security code, billing address, and ZIP code for secure payment processing.
  • Identity Verification Information: Date of birth, and—depending on jurisdiction—your Social Security number, tax ID, VAT ID, social insurance number, and government-issued photo ID (passport, driver’s license, or local ID).
  • Promotional Information: Responses to surveys, sweepstakes, contests, promotional campaigns, or feedback forms.
  • Employment/Job Applicant Data: Resume details, education and job history, work/writing samples, references, and applicant-specific data like LinkedIn profile, work eligibility, proximity to office, willingness to work in-office, sponsorship needs, and compensation expectations.
  • User-Generated Content: Information exchanged via messages (email, chat, in-app) including text, images, or media related to task performance or service discussions.
  • Booking and Task Information: Task details such as service type, schedule, location, and task-specific preferences. For Taskers, this also includes skillsets, service offerings, and set rates.
  • Driver and Vehicle Information: For Taskers providing transportation or delivery services, vehicle details including year, make, model, and type.
  • Background Check Data: Results of any background screening, including verification and criminal history, subject to applicable law.
  • Cookies and Tracking Data: Data collected through cookies and similar technologies (e.g., web beacons) per our [Cookie Policy].
  • Device and Technical Data: Browser type, operating system, mobile device information, IP address, device ID, language, time zone, and internet service provider.
  • Geolocation Data: City-level or more precise location (e.g., latitude/longitude) derived from IP address or device GPS, used for service optimization and fraud prevention.
  • Usage and Activity Data: Logs of your interaction with the Platform, including feature usage, task views, timestamps, referrals, and ad/email engagement.


We do not collect Personal Information beyond what is reasonably necessary to provide the Platform and fulfill legal obligations.

  1. Use of Personal Information

We use Personal Information to support legitimate business interests and contractual obligations, including:

  • Platform Functionality: To enable you to access, navigate, and use the Platform’s features, including account management, task creation, and task fulfillment.
  • User Matching & Transactions: To facilitate connections between Clients and Taskers and manage service delivery and fulfillment.
  • Personalization: To customize your experience based on preferences, location, and behavior, including suggested services, search results, and marketing content.
  • Payment & Fraud Prevention: To process transactions securely, detect suspicious activity, and reduce fraud or financial risks.
  • Verification & Compliance: To conduct identity and background checks where legally permitted, and to meet regulatory or internal compliance standards.
  • User Safety: To safeguard users both on the Platform and during offline interactions, including monitoring reports, flagging activity, and removing unsafe accounts.
  • Platform Integrity: To monitor usage patterns, detect system abuse, and ensure stable, reliable Platform performance.
  • Analytics & Optimization: To evaluate Platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve features, workflows, and user satisfaction.
  • Communications: To send important service updates, transaction confirmations, support messages, and promotional content (with the ability to opt out where required).
  • Customer Support: To provide timely assistance and help resolve technical, billing, or service-related inquiries or disputes.
  • Marketing & Advertising: To advertise Task Haus or our partners’ products/services tailored to your interests (see our Cookie Policy for more info on tracking and preferences).
  • Legal Compliance: To enforce the Terms of Service, comply with applicable laws and regulations, and respond to lawful government or legal requests.
  • Other Legitimate Purposes: Any purpose disclosed at the time of collection or reasonably necessary for the provision of services and Platform operation, consistent with applicable law.
  1. Disclosure of Personal Information

Task Haus may disclose your Personal Information to third parties strictly in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws. Disclosures are limited to the following situations:

  1. Subsidiaries and Affiliates

We may share Personal Information with our current or future subsidiaries and affiliates to improve our products and services, ensure operational alignment, and offer you an integrated experience across the Task Haus family of services.

We disclose Personal Information to trusted third-party vendors, contractors, and service providers who are contractually bound to process the data only on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions, for legitimate business and operational purposes, including:

  • Email origination and communications delivery
  • Identity verification and lawful background checks
  • Fraud monitoring, prevention, and detection
  • Customer service and relationship management
  • Receipt and invoice generation
  • Secure payment processing, chargeback management, and collections
  • Website hosting and IT infrastructure

  • Registrant onboarding, credentialing, and user authentication
  • Technical support and bug resolution

These third parties are strictly prohibited from using your data for their own purposes and must maintain its confidentiality and security.

  1. Promotions, Sweepstakes, and Joint Offers

If you choose to participate in a promotional event, contest, or co-branded offering, your information may be shared with the sponsoring partner solely for the purpose of fulfilling the offer or promotion, and only as necessary. You will be informed at the time of collection if this applies.

  1. Advertising and Marketing Partners

We may share limited information (such as device identifiers, cookie data, or pseudonymized email addresses) with select partners for advertising, retargeting, and measurement purposes, subject to applicable opt-out and consent laws. Sensitive Personal Information is never sold or shared for profit.

We may disclose relevant Personal Information (e.g., name, task details, or contact method) to other users, or to their legal representatives, in connection with:

  • Fulfilling service agreements
  • Resolving disputes or complaints
  • Investigating violations of our Terms of Service

This is done only as necessary to protect legitimate interests, resolve operational issues, or enforce our rights.

We may disclose Personal Information where required to:

In the event of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, your Personal Information may be disclosed to or transferred to the acquiring or successor entity. In such cases, we will ensure the receiving party is bound by substantially similar data protection obligations.

Task Haus retains your Personal Information only for as long as is strictly necessary to:

  • Deliver and support our services and products;

  • Satisfy applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or reporting requirements;

We use strict data retention schedules and routinely review the data we store to ensure continued necessity and relevance.

Once your Personal Information is no longer needed for any of the purposes listed above, and we are not legally required or otherwise permitted by law to retain it, we will:

  • Permanently delete or securely destroy the data from our active systems and backups; or
  • Deidentify or anonymize the information in such a manner that it can no longer be used to identify you, directly or indirectly, and is no longer considered Personal Information under applicable laws.


We do not retain data indefinitely.
Retention periods vary depending on the type of information, its use, and legal requirements. For example:

  • Transactional records may be retained for up to 7 years for audit or tax purposes;
  • Account-related data may be retained for as long as your account remains active or as required to fulfill service commitments;
  • Support and communications records may be retained to improve service quality or resolve disputes.

If you request deletion of your data, we will follow the same standards unless retention is required by law or essential to protect our legal interests.

Depending on your place of residence, you may have specific rights under applicable privacy laws, including but not limited to those provided by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and similar regional laws.

You have the right to opt out of receiving promotional or marketing communications from Task Haus. You may exercise this right at any time by using one of the following methods:

  • Email: Click the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email.
  • Text messages: Reply with the word “STOP” to any promotional SMS.
  • Push notifications or in-app messages: Adjust your preferences under the “Notifications” section in your Account Settings.
  • Web settings: Manage communication preferences via your online account dashboard.


Please Note:
Even if you opt out of marketing or promotional messages, Task Haus may still send you non-promotional communications as required to manage your account and deliver services. These may include messages related to transactions, service notices, system updates, or other business-critical communications.

Right to Access and Data Portability

You have the right to request access to the Personal Information we hold about you. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • The categories and specific pieces of Personal Information we have collected;
  • The sources from which the data was collected;

  • A copy of your Personal Information in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.


Right to Correct

You have the right to correct any inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete Personal Information. This can be done by logging into your account and updating the information under the “Account” section. If you are unable to make updates yourself, you may contact us for assistance.

Right to Delete

You can delete your account directly within the Task Haus App.

To do this, open the app and navigate to Profile → Delete Account.

A confirmation modal will appear — once you select “Yes”, your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted.

Right to Non-Discrimination

You will not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any of your privacy rights under applicable law. This includes denial of services, charging different prices or rates, or providing a different level or quality of service.

Important:
To protect your Personal Information, we are required to verify your identity before fulfilling any request. We may request specific identifying information from you and, in certain cases, require signed authorization. If we are unable to verify your identity, we may deny your request, in whole or in part.

Task Haus does not sell Personal Information in the traditional sense. However, certain data practices may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of Personal Information under state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA.

If you are a resident of the United States and wish to exercise your right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your Personal Information with third parties for advertising or other purposes, you may do so at any time by clicking on the “DO NOT SELL OR SHARE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION” link and submitting your preferences.

California residents have the following additional rights:

  • The right to request a list of categories of Personal Information disclosed by Task Haus to third parties during the preceding calendar year for their direct marketing purposes.
  • The right to request a list of categories of third parties to whom such disclosures were made.

To exercise any of these rights, submit a request via our Consumer Rights Request Form by selecting the “Consumer Rights Requests” option. We may require additional information to verify your identity and confirm your California residency before processing your request. If verification is not possible, we may deny the request in accordance with applicable law.
